In Economics we defined productivity as a ratio between the output volume and the input volume, Productivity is a measure of how efficiently production inputs like labour and capital are utilized in an economy to provide a level of output.

I am a supporter of anything that will increase productivity, this is effectively what will increase efficiency of your inputs to save you time, energy and personnel resources. Since the invention of the assembly line, Henry Ford articulated what the principles of assembly line does, he asserts that tools and men should be placed in sequence, of the operation so that each component part shall travel the least possible distance while in the process of finishing, use workslises or some other forms of carrier so that when a workman completes his operation he drops the part always at the same place which must always be the most convenient place to his hands and if possible have gravity carry the part to the next workman for his operation.

Since the invention of the wheel the world have increased in the level of production, small tools needing a heavy push expending lots of energy can be wheeled and nudged a little to do similar movement with minimal energy and attendant costs.
