The handles are made of SG iron and aluminium alloy for maximum strength, and the movable and fixed jaws are made of high strength alloy steel for durability. The handle has been designed to ensure easy and comfortable grip, while the knurled adjustable nut allows for easy setting. The spring-loaded jaws have also been designed to provide a secure grip. Lastly, the metallurgy of the SG iron handle meets the standards set by IS-1865-1991, and the torque and load tests have been conducted in accordance with IS-4003 (part II)-1986. Percentage elongation test for the handles is done as per is-1865-1991.
